Damn that's a shame.
Literally just taken delivery of a motor bash guard.
Their products aren't cheap and I guess they may have hit a stumbling block with charging enough to try and make a profit whilst maybe appearing expensive against the competitors. That said, I'm using a carbon bashguard as my opinion on pricing, not sure where their normal mudguards sit price wise
I loved their products, but as has been said, they weren't cheap and it was a labour intensive process that doesn't seem to have scaled particularly well.
While any business closing is bad news, I've had mixed experiences with them. Ordered a guard for a Airdrop Edit that fitted like a glove, was well made etc, off the back of that experience when I changed frames to an Enduro, went back to Rockguardz and I have to say it was disappointing. Didn't really fit that well - sat far enough away from the frame in some places that it just sucked in mud and debris, and needed taking off and cleaning more often than I wanted to do it , had some rough edges that needed sanding . Took it off and went back to the original part.
This is pretty gutting - I’ve had one of the rockguard protectors on EVERY carbon frame I’ve owned and they’ve saved my bike ALOT of times taking the impact - there’s definitely a market to some extent but guess with everyone riding e bikes these days perhaps no market anymore for them as most e-bikes have something down there to protect them and the carbons not exposed the same
I think OEM frame protection is getting better and better so the market must be shrinking. It's a shame as they make good stuff
Totally gutted for them, they are a great bunch, totally into their bikes and riding.
i hope the all get sorted with something new.
Well that's a bugger, had them on my last few bikes and tend to use them along with invisiframe just because why not. The manufacturer guards are usually nowhere near as good.
Shame. Pretty much a necessary item on some frames. Wouldn't like to imagine what state the downtube on my Stumpjumper would be in without one. Very precise fitment as well.
Does anyone know of shops holding stock - all top google hits are still the Rockguardz site? It's been on my to do list for my Stumpy for a while. Hope I've not missed the boat.
I think they only sold direct
