Does anyone have a Rocket and can throw some light on why the brake pivot suddenly and inexplicably appears to have developed about half a mm of side to side play?

My first thought was a knackered bushing, but that shouldn't cause side to side play right?

Not had that issue on mine.
I assume you mean that the seat stay can move axially (parallel to the wheel axle) on the bolt holding both the bush and the rear brake mount?

If the bush wears and then allows the aluminium top hat spacers to wear it could have that effect?

Ask Cy tomorrow?

I've already sent Cy a nice email 😉

Yep as you say it moves along the shaft of the axle - it's worse with the wheel removed as I guess the axle keeps it all in place. It's almost like it's missing a spacer (but it's not, as far as I can see).

Presumably the top-hat bits that go inside the bushing have worn. Like jimw says, drop Cotic a line, I'm sure they'll sort you out (edit: I see you already have, good stuff 🙂 ).

Ah that would make sense, I didn't think about the top hat part of the bushing.

Hum. Looking at the manual it looks like it's not a top hat bush, but mine seems to have two washers on one side rather than the shock spacer. That might explain it...

Nope, that's nonsense, it is top hat spacers. Hopefully replacement will sort it (Cotic are being very helpful despite my incoherent ramblings).

😀 Hee! You'll get there in the end...

How many miles have you put on it? I'm interested to know how long the seatstay pivots last for.

Not loads, but it was second hand and had done a fair few since I got it I reckon.

Big shout out to Paul at Cotic who calmly read my gibberish emails and said "yup, you need a replacement" then got one in the post. Fingers crossed it'll be here by Thursday...
