As thread title said my Rock shox reba team dual air with maxle light have just arrived.
Now my question is will the relevant oil be in them already or do i need to take them apart and add the correct amounts of oil.
I think from the manuals etc I should be able to fit them etc but dont fancy taking them apart to add the oil ( Dont think I have enough technical knowledge to do that)
Any links to manuals or helpfull tips with fitting etc would be extremely appreciated.
Ready to ride (once you've adjusted the air pressures to your weight)
You'll need to change the oil if you change the travel.
for air try about 5-10psi more in the bottom chamber than the top
Thanks for the quick reply guys. Will i need to apply lube to the stanchions etc? or is it a case of once i have fitted them, adjusted the air pressures and they will be ready for the trail?
Also, would I be able to use the star nut from my old rock shox or will I have to buy a new one?
Thanks again guys

Wipe the stanchions down after use, apply a bit of lube. I use Fork Juice on my forks which happen to be exactly the same as yours

New one
Hope Head Doctor rather than star-nut.

Any reason why? Not like the steerer is carbon so either will do fine (FWIW I've got a hed doctor in my set but that's only because that's what I had to hand)
have never understood the point of head doctors etc on non-carbon steerers.
apart from the ease of installation they seem inferior to star fangled nuts in every respect?
No problems with Hed Dr here.
Forks should be ready to ride
Changing oil is easy, syringe helps
Thanks for your help guys. Really wasnt looking forwards to taking them apart and adding oil etc. Will probable do it in the future but not yet.
Quick question can anyone recommend a good hub/wheel set to go with the fork. I have a hard tail and mainly ride places like Afan and |Brechfa. I was looking at a Hope pro11 on a stans Arch rim. But after reading some posts I see there has been problems with the compatibility of the Maxle light and the hope Pro11.
Any advice would be a great help
I would have said go for Hope 2 as you can then use it for anything. AFAIAA Maxle light is same as regular Maxle
I also have a pair of Maxle Reba Teams. Great forks, once they're set up right.
I do find that Rockshox skimp on the splash oil in the lower legs and foam rings, and it does make the fork feel pretty sticky. It's a dead easy job to add some more (takes about 10 minutes when you know what you're doing, so allow 20!) Follow the instructions on the RS site ( here )
Use plenty of prep-M or similar around the seals, and a good dollop of 15 wt oil in the lowers and they'll feel fantastic out of the box.
Running ProII hub here with no issues.
Running Maxles and hope pro II hubs on four of our bikes with no problems, grease the Maxle before or it may not come back out when you want it to

Another Pro2 (with 355 rim) user here on my Reba with Maxle...no problems but I do get a gap between the maxle collar and the lower right dropout
Oh it may have just been someone writing about a problem they were having then. It was something to do wit the gap between the collar and the drop out and the wheel moving/not fitting snug on the axle.
Guess I should go with my first choice then of Hope pro2 on the Stans Arch if others are using the hub with no problems
