Just taken my rockshox pikes apart and removed oil and wiper seals. Notice that in both lower legs at the bottom there is a circular rubber/plastic disc with a hole in the middle that the metal from the upper goes through, the questions i have are:

1. What is it?
2. What does it do?
3. Why is one of mine straight and the other on slightly curved/bent?

Will it also need replacing?

bottom out bumpers.

thread them back onto the prongy bits at the bottom of the stanchions before you re-install them.

Why was one of them slightly bent?

Might have happened coming out. Nothing to worry about. I personally prefer to poke them back into the lowers, checking they're flat against the bottom before installing stanchions.

I think they also enable tightening of the damper rod bolt. The one time I forgot to put them back in, I couldn't tighten the bolt under the rebound knob because the damper rod was just spinning round with it.
