Hi all,
I just bought a used set of rock shox domain forks, 180, 302 version (rebound adjust only). I want to use them for our yearly alps trip on my 'yet to built' mega (will run 150 revs in the uk).
I am not a great rider, so I dont want to crash anything expensive, hence the domains. Also, finding them in white with 1 1/8 steerer was not easy.
Anyway, they seem in good nic, but the rebound adjust does not seem to do anything (turned it from all the way on to all the way off with little or no difference).
I am planning on converting them to motion control with the help of my motor enineer brother in law, and change the spring to a lighter one (I use a soft pike spring). Would an oil change/service solve the rebound issue? And how easy is all this to do?
If not, I may just complain to the seller and get a different set.
What do you guys think?
Simone
Is the red knob pushed all the way in?
Or could it be the rebound cartridge that has broken, one on EBAY
Your brother should be able to swap it.
Good reliable forks normally, bit on the heavy side but will be fine in the Alps
Sorry for thread hijack!
I've got a silver soft spring for 180mm domains if you are interested?!

I have heard the rebound would not work if there is not enough oil in the forks? Is that true? It does seem to click, but not feel any different. Don't really want to replace the cartridge if I can help it.
And Andy, yhm. Yes please to the spring!
Anyone think the motion control upgrade is worth it?
Simone
Hi Simone,
YHM back!
