Has anyone got one of the AXS droppers? I’d like to know how much rotational play they develop?
Is it fit and forget like a fox dropper, or do you have to lube it every ride like the brand X ones?
I mean, don't forget to charge it (not every ride, but every few), but other than that yeah, fit and forget. No play so far in mine (18 & 12 months old).
Axs is a gamer changer for operation. I almost need to relearn how to use my left thumb when I use my bike with hydro post.
However I’m recommending my ride buddies to wait for AXS v2 as I’m still a little disappointed at the play in the post. I’m currently switching my AXS post between bikes until v2 when I will buy a second.
I haven't noticed any rotational movement, but it isn't something I check anyway. I suspect it has a wee bit, no more than non-axs versions.
I charge mine every 3 months and it gets used 3 or 4 times a week, but only for about 90 minutes...so it does seem to last which is impressive.
I’ve got 2. Both been excellent for 12 / 18 months. No play that I can discern. If you have the money it’s a no-brainer.
Mines has play, forward back and sidewards either way
Very noticeable the other week in the colder conditions, could feel it wobbling through my arse to the point of a lot of distraction
Did a vent valve bleed a few times and then went out on it and didn’t notice it at all when riding, temps were higher so no idea if it was the vent valve or the warmer temps
Feels great again now, it has some movement side to side at the saddle but every single dropper I’ve had, had that too bar none and I’ve had them all
It’s by far the smoothest in operation out of any though and it’s very nice having no cable to deal with
Will probably sell this and get a v2 with hopefully 200mm when they arrive assuming it will fit in my frame
I prefer it over the axs gears if I had to choose one, it is very very good in operation
