Hi i have some rock shox lyric set up at 4,4 and a rebound of 11 which they recommend, i have found that after compression they dont go back to the full length which u have to lift the front wheel to get, anyone know why?
The forks are brand new.
Stiction in the new seals? They may not have broken in yet.
Sag. Perfectly normal - if it's <20mm
even if ur not on the bike?
No, if you're not on the bike the forks should extend to their full travel. I'd say it's probably due to stiction caused by new seals and should free up after a few rides.
arr right cheers well ill be giving it a few good rides soon so will see after that
My Lyriks do this exact same thing, I'm only talking about 3-4mm max but if you lift the front of the bike they will extend by this amount. Also the coil U-turn ones seem to differ in max fork travel from fork to fork - i.e. some get the full, in my case 160mm, while some get a little more and some a little less. I sent mine to TF with this in mind and was expecting them to say there was something wrong with them but they said the fork was sweet as a nut, give it the normal service and sent em back. Still get the same thing now with lifting the front of the bike up but don't worry about it.
oh ok i just thought it was a little abnormal :p
