Anyone with experience of using a sucker-type rack on the vertical tailgate of a car? I have a spoiler so conventional racks don't fit and going the towbar route is another £300+

I have seen pictures of someone using them on vertical van rear doors and was considering doing the same but decided not to as I was unsure how secure they would be.

What's the problem with fitting a sea sucker to the roof where it's designed to go ?
Seasucker do make one for rear window attachment; weight limit of 35lbs though: Hornet rack
I've had a talon for a while; never found a car I couldn't make it work on 🙂
