Morning everyone, anyone had a problem with new Rockshox SIDS at all? New bike came with them in September and after maybe 5-6 rides they have developed a knock/slight rattle in the first few mm of travel. This occurs if you just compress them whilst stationary and whilst riding. Really annoying as it feels like a loose headset! I did find some old threads on Pike's and Rebas doing the same sort of things but they went back a few years. Has anyone else come across this and is there an easy fix?
IIRC there has been quite a few issues with the SID's (knocking bushings), people with Transition Spurs having to send their SID's back. Best contact where you bought them from and have them returned to Rockshox for inspection/repair.
Yep I bought some sids from Germany recently, same issue. Didn't fancy sending back so asked Phil from Indi Cycle Works to take a look in case it was something minor, top out bumper missing, token from a different fork fitted and only half the oil needed in place! He said forks often get shipped with problems from the factory as workers ain't the best! Sorted quickly by him for not much money and forks are brilliant now
Seems reasonably common on the new Sid, luckily mine is ok so far but take it back to the shop you had it from and the warranty turn around is pretty quick.
SID Ultimate 120mm 29 (32mm stantions) here, from Germany, same issue, turned them upside down for 48 hours & now they don't knock. But I will get them serviced before they are a year old.
Thanks for the reply's all. Thanks to Lockdown and the trails round here being soaked the bike probably won't see daylight untill spring so may just send it back to the shop and ask them to take a look.
