Can I put an 11 speed cassette (Shimano Ultegra) onto a 10 speed freehub (currently has a Dura Ace 10 speed cassette on a Mavic Ksyrium wheel).

Cheers

Don't think so, only MTB 11 is compatible, Road needs a new hub. Some Hope hubs can be sorted through a freehub body change, not sure about the Mavics.

If it's less than about 10 years old should fit fine.

Wheel is approx 10 yrs old so guess I'd just have to try it and see if it fits.

Thanks

Aye, Ksyriums of that vintage should be fine - Mavic (whether in some bizarre case of prophecy, or just luck) have been making their freehub bodies too long for years, and had an extra spacer behind the cassette. Remove this and miraculously you have an 11 speed freehub body.

No spacer behind cassette = new freehub body time.

Mavic freehubs are longer as they used to make their own groupset which used a wider cassette, turned out very good for us!
