Ive got a road bike with Campagnolo Avanti kit on it.

The 8 spd cassette is a bit too low geared for me, so I am thinking of changing it. However will all modern Campagnolo stuff fit, or will I have to find some vintage 1990's stuff?

Having said that I have Shimano MTB 8 spd cassettes lying around from roughly the same era... will they fit?

Ta

You can still get 8spd Campag cassettes like Miche ones. Have a look on ebay there will be lots.

what is the hub spline pattern, hard to explain is it quite deep or shallow like shimano. The former is the current pattern so any current cassette will be fine, the later is the old pattern and may take a bit more work.

Just following up as I am the reverse (weak legs and looking to get a bigger cassette) - its also Campag Avanti 8 sp cassette late 90's on the road bike.

Did you get something suitable what fitted and if not fancy a swap or can i buy the old one? - mine is 11 or 12-23 and anything bigger is a bonus to climb most hills on!
