Just went on the Cotic site and saw they have stopped doing the Roadrat.
I was planning on buying my second one in the new year.

Does anyone know if this is a permanent discontinue or if there is some sort of exciting replacement on the horizon?

I would imagine that the Escapade outsells it by wuite a margin, and theres a bit of cross-over in intended use?

They announced a while back that it was going to be discontinued.

Yeah, Roadrat is no more. As currently guessed above, the Escapade outsells it to such an extent that it didn't make sense to do another run. Had a good go though - continuous production from 2006 to 2019.

Shame as it had been around for a long time, but makes sense if the Escapade does so well and there is fair bit of crossover between them, with the compact geometry I guess you can size up an Escapade and run flat bars if you wanted.

@cy, I see some colour/size combos of the Escapade have dropped off the site, does this mean new colours are in the pipeline?

@lawman91 The only reason some size/colour options have gone out of stock is because we buy Escapades in batches big enough to last a year so if we get a run on some options they sell through. Next restock (and a new colour although we haven't decided what that is yet) isn't due until late April 2020.

That's a shame. I like my current one so much I was planning to buy a second! One with gears and the older one as a single speed.

Cheeky hijack, but I have a roadrat frame gathering dust in the attic if you were looking for another one?

Yeah shame there wasn't a 'last batch ever!'...few of us who had sat on the fence for a while might have be persuaded given I have no interest in riding drop handlebars & my cycle2work limit has gone up!

Sweet mine must be appreciating now. Will happily swap 6 year old slightly battered but in that nice duck egg blue medium roadrat for new escapade with 105. Ta.
