understand that these levers have a different cable pull on them?
anyone have any experience setting these up with cantis, mini-vs, or even regular v-brakes ( which i expect won't work without the addition of those cam things ) etc?
good/bad/indifferent?
would i be better off sticking with 5600? do they have concealed cables or not?
Built up my son's cx with 5700 STI's and Tektro Orynx canti's.
Works fine, just the same as the previous 5600.
The 5600 has exposed shifter cables, but in my opinion a more comfortable profile when on the hoods.
Works with no drama, its what Cube crossers come with.
I don't think the change in cable pull is *that* different. Better not be anyway for the road bike which is going together!
levers suit either calipers or canti
V brakes require a different pull ration but you can use a travel agent to correct
TRP brakes on a Dura Ace STI worked fine yesterday.
LOL. like your work Clubber. that doesn't strike me as a bad price either.
this build ( if it happens ) has to fulfil a number of different roles however. i've heard/read/someblokeinapubtoldme that cantis are the best option if you plan on fitting racks/paniers? side-pulls not an option for mud-clearance.
thanks everyone else for additional information too.
