Right - I've just managed to wreck a perfectly decent Mavic Open 4CD rim, bent beyond repair, completely pringled.
Was built onto an old Shimano 105 8 speed rear hub, which still seems to be OK.
Questions, questions:
1. If I buy a new Open Pro rim and pay for the wheel to rebuilt, how much is this likely to cost?
2. Fianancially, am I better off just buying a new rear wheel?
3. If so, how much will I need to spend to get something approaching the quality of the one I've just bust?
I'm not going to spell out exactly how I managed to bust the wheel, but it involved a massive amount of stupidity on my part, a barrier designed to prevent motorcycles and the fact that road bikes tend to be lower than MTB's.
Yes I am stupid. And very, very angry.
All advice appreciated.
Had the same situation, clicked into merlin cycles, bought a new wheel.. happy!
