Tried stripping my rear road wheel at the weekend but failed.
It is planet X standard road wheel about 2 years old if that helps.
I got the cassette off, undid the lock screw thing on the axle on the cassette side but could then get no further.
The axle did not want to come out.
The other end would not undo as there is nothing to hold the axle.
I was expecting there to be two lock nuts that you undid with cone spanners but there is only one on each end.
Help please.
Do they look like these?

They're cartridge bearing hubs. You need to grip then pull off the dust caps from both ends (the front hub's got grub screws which need undoing first). Can't remember how easy it is to get the freehub off though, but once the dust caps are off the axle should tap out with a soft hammer (support the hub carefully) bringing the first bearing out with it. Then you can tackle the other bearing(s) that are still sitting in the hub body.
yeah they look just like that.
The free hub just plopped out in my hand.
Still not too sure how you get the dust caps off & grip the axle.
Is it monkey wrench & weedle the cap off with a screw driver ?
excellent - thx
