For my road bike - to use primarily on the road but also some monsal trail action. Surface is tarmac in some spots and gravely slimey lime dust in others.
What tyres?

Conti Gatorskins in 25c would be fine

Conti GP 4000s seemed to work well for gravel road/cobbles/tarmac for Tour of Flanders training over poor surfaces. In 23c size too; but that's more to do with riding style.
