Struggling to find a 700c, 25mm wide, 60mm valve latex tube and have come across these – Tubolito S-Tubo Road 700C Tube SV

Only 23g, better rolling than latex and the same puncture resistance as regular tubes.

Anyone used them? Are they too good to be true?

Yes
No
With reservations.
I ‘be been riding on a pair for about a year and they’ve been really good- no punctures, roll well, don’t go soft as quickly as latex.
I also had one in my winter/utility bike’s back wheel. The other day I went to put the kick stand down and must have caught the valve stem with my toe as it snapped off. Tube now useless which is £30 to replace.
However, for best bike use, worth a go and cheaper than setting up tubeless.

I'm looking at the 27.5+ ones as a backup option - standard tubes being pretty bulky as well as heavy. Bike-discount seem pretty good on price.

@neil the wheel

Sounds like the might be worth a punt. (They'll be to going on the good weather bike, although to be fair that still sees rain, just not road salt.)

Are you using the super light ones, or just the light ones?

The orange valve stems massively offend my sensibilities, but they do look tempting. I've got latex in the good bike, but may replace with those as at Bike Discount's prices there's not all that much in it.

They are ridiculously light. I worry about my £10 latex tubes when I inflate them, I think I'd be less anxious playing Russian roulette!
Really impressive that they are only 23 grams - that's uber light, pretty astounded by that. I use Michelin A1 Latex tubes with 60mm valve and they are 80 grams (ish). The latex Michelin with 60mm valves are in stock at Merlin and CRC for £10. Not many options available for a 60mm valve, majority of the other makes are with removable valve cores.

@w00dster The Michelin tubes are only up to 23mm and I'm trying to avoid a valve extender.

Is it for 25mm tyres? I’ve used the 18-23mm tubes for at least 5 years with 25mm tyres.
That said those Tubo things look really interesting. £60 for 3 tubes though....(I’m a bit ocd and would need to put them in both tyres and one spare)

I was just using the ordinary light ones. The orange stems do look awful and as I found are brittle . They are also not easy to get an airtight seal with some pumps.

Unsuitable for rim brakes?
Temp issues I guess on long , fast alpine decents?
Super light though , shame they dont do a mid price , 'heavyweight' option that woud sit between trad rubber like a conti supersonic inner and latex and cost around £8

The standard version is OK with rim brakes, it's just the extra light version that is disc brake only.

You don’t need 25c latex. Standard 23 is fine. Part of the attraction is their flexibility! Never gave it a moments thought and I only run 25c on the road bikes.
