Hi,

I'm getting a new bike this week which comes with shimano 105 5800 shifters. I much prefer the r7000 or r8000 shifter covers with the grippy bits on them.

Anyone know if they are interchangable? if so, do I need to cut the gear cables to get them on?

Cheers
Andy

No, or at least they're not supposed to be.

Hudz do aftermarket ones, but they're replacement rather than upgrades (never tried them so maybe they're better I don't know).

I would say no; Shimano hoods have all kinds of bits moulded in the insides to help them fit snugly on their particular brake.

Shimano say no, covers are not interchangeable between 5800 and R7000 but are interchangeable between R7000 and R8000 levers.
