I did 12 miles on my road bike yesterday, at one point I stopped to look at the view on a steep narrow DH road. 3 mtb’rs came flying down past me, one nearly loosing it in the gravel, no way they could have stopped if a car was coming up.

Today I did 40 miles. I’ve just looked at a couple of people’s rides that I passed. One was doing a 1 way 55 mile ride (how did he get home ? Was he picked up?) the other did 111 miles.

I am unreasonable in thinking both were being unreasonable? Or are other people still doing similar dick ish riding or big distances?

You think they are taking the pee. Plenty out there will think you are taking the pee. Everyone will have their own interpretation of the rules.

You stopped on a steep, narrow dh road? Isn't that a bit inconsiderate?

Do nothing much more than a typical road ride for you.

For me, that's ~40 miles, although since lockdown I've yet to do more than ~30. Usually fairly hilly.

I'm contemplating a very short gentle ride now before it goes dark, takeaway chippy meal arrived a little later than planned and I didn't fancy keeping it in my stomach if I headed off by ~1915!

YMMV.

Do we need yet another thread to argue about this some more?
