Looks like there is the Stelvio pass, Gavia, Mortirolo???

Anything else?

Is there 5-6 days worth of riding out there? And has anyone got any recommendations for places to stay (either villages/ towns or actual accommodation)??

Hi, did a twin centre with italy bike hotels, 3 days lake garda. 3 days in bormio.
Did those 3 climbs, pretty epic climbing, bormio is a lovely town and there are
other climbs, routes to do from there, the thermal spa is bloody great too 😀

Rode out there a few years back. Didn't do the Gavia or Mortirolo though.

We stayed in Hotel Stelvio in Santa Maria, Switzerland (hotel-stelvio.ch). Was OK for a couple of nights stay. Recent Tripadvisor reviews seem a bit mixed.

We rode down the Mustair valley then onto Prato and up the Stelvio from the North East (the classic way you see in most of the pics). Then down to the Umbrail Pass and over that back to Santa Maria. The Umbrail is unpaved for about 3km towards the top, but it's well graded and easily do'able on a road bike.

From Santa Anna you can also ride up the Umbrail and down the Stelvio into Bormio or continue up to the top of the Stelvio.
There's also a loop that goes Santa Anna > Umbrail > Stelvio > Bormio > Liviginio > along the lake > through the Munt la Schera tunnel (there's a bike shuttle bus in the Summer) > Fuorn Pass (Ofenpass) > Santa Anna.

We had a long weekend a couple of years ago in Bormio.
We rode the Gran Fondo stelvio Santini - which was good, quite hard, finished in 4' of snow...
Other places to ride:
Mortirolo - do it from all 3 sides
Ride up to Lago delle Scale o di Fraele from Pradella - its the most perfect chocolate box hairpin'd climb, its more of a before lunch ride, but there's some nice cafes in Pradella.
Ride the Gavia, actually, you might as well then ride the Mortirolo on the way back...

So do people reckon there would be 5-6 days worth of riding staying in, say, Bormio?

Is there anywhere we could get self catering accommodation? This year, we based ourselves in the French Alps where there are obviously chalets a plenty...

Been there 2 years ago on the motorbike. Place was crawling with road bikers. The Russian pro team were training there. Loads of stuff over livigno way up towards Swiss border.

We stayed in hotel alu in Bormio which is classed as a bike hotel as they provide facilities for road bikes. Highly recommend this place, the food was awesome.

Fabulous area all around.
