I've just moved to the area, can anyone advise me on any decent 30-40 mile routes??
Cheers

Loads of great roads out towards Bridgnorth, or towards Stafford Newport, Woodseaves etc,

once you are out of telford its self there is loads of mixed riding. for flat to rolling head to shrewsbury wem market drayton stafford sort of arc.
head south west for hills.
try heading out to iron bridge then across country towards chuch stretton, get a OS and pict out the lanes.

Wrekin sport is your nearest road club.
the Mid shropshire wheelers do a 65m road ride every sunday starting from Sundorne sports village in shrewsbury (thats the nearest bit of shrewbury to telford)
Also the cjub runs two evening track sessions tuesdays and thursdays, 6.30-7.30 & 7.30 -8.30, at sundorne on a flood lit outdoor tarmac track (not a velodrome) all welcome £3 for an hour for non members.

Get out of Telford and then take your pick north and east for flat mileage, south and west for lumpy bumpy. The Wrekin and Ironbridge give you some good climbs close round.

Depends which side you're on, lots of riding that way. West is bumpy east is very flat.

Lots out that way...down towards Much Wenlock, Cardington and Church Stretton if you fancy stretching your legs a bit more.

Some tasty climbs around too 🙂

Lots of crits at Sundorne too if that's your bag.

Late reply as I'm still unpacking lol. I'm out towards Donnington. There looks to be lots of cycle paths to keep out of the busier roads which is nice as I don't think I would want to ride on some of them lol.
One of them goes down towards iron bridge I may venture out down that way.

Head towards the Wrekin, under the M54 then down the Wrekin Course into Eaton Constantine.

Left through Buildwas into Ironbridge, left up Station Road and Darby Road up to Little Wenlock and back to the Wrekin.

Not sure on miles but it's a variation on a regular loop we do (albeit heading in from a different direction).

Nice climb from the river too.

Much Wenlock, thru Wigwig and Homer 😀 through Harley, Cardington to Church Stretton. Quick loop over the Mynd whilst you're there.

Also, Eley's of Ironbridge (right by the bridge) for very lovely pastry products. Home of the pork pie wedding cake.
