also a nice gravel loop preferable starting at the loch i cna nip out for one evening.
and a couple of fell runs if there is time, sheillion (excuse spelling) beinn a chuallaich suggestions or others??
many thanks
There's a track (Lairig Ghallabhraich) from Carie on the south side of the loch over to Glen Lyon, refreshments at Bridge of Balgie tearoom 🙂
Return the same way or make a loop by going down Glen Lyon, Coshieville and the Shiehallion road.
From Kinloch Rannoch by road to Trinafour and A9 cycle path. At Dalnaspidal go down Loch Garry then carry on south to Loch Rannoch. The middle from the end of Loch Garry to Duinish can be boggy!
Glen Lyon - Scotland's longest enclosed glen.
Tea room at Bridge of Balgie (closed Weds & Thurs I think) onto Pubil and Loch Lyon, over the rough road to Kennock and then back to Killin.
Before Pubil look for the cairn in memory of the son of the glen who opened up NW Canada.
Then loop back over past ben lawyers etc.
I was there a few weeks ago.
In addition to above you can do the etape caledonia route and there's some nice short routes/loops doable using those roads and some of the roads towards Tummel Bridge, Trinafour and Pitagowan.
Didn't get a chance to do any offroad riding unfortunately.
Can you go off-road on easy tracks at all? Some brilliant long forest road loops.
There is a lovely out and back to Loch Ericht on a forest track - it gets you to lovely beaches, a shelter in the hunting lodge and out along almost to the Ben Alder cottage.
Great routes through Black Woods of Rannoch, and there is a loop on north shore, with an unmarked connection (via a river crossing) to the hydro road.
Road: out to Bridge of Ericht and up the private hydro road to the dam on Ericht and beyond.
If you want to go offroad you can hire mountain bikes from the refurbished Loch Rannoch hotel (it was only e-bikes until recently).
As an aside: They're also looking at the feasibility of a bike park in the trees all the way up behind; there's plenty of scope for some great trails with bermed bench turns, etc. Realistically something to engage with the 7 stanes team for 2024, as the overall resort renovation is still ongoing (climbing wall just opened, etc).

is that from camusericht and about 6 km up to the southern end of the loch?
