Building a new frame with ultegra 8000 rear mech, I can't get the rear mech to sit close enough towards the wheel for the jockey wheels to line up under the biggest sprocket and on the h adjuster on full it sits to the right of the little sprocket when looking from the rear. Tried a 7000 mech as well same result.

So could it be too long a piece of cable outer from frame to rear mech? I have measured distance from lock ring to inside of drop out and it's 7mm on my hunt rear, but only 4 mm on a prime wheel. But never had this issue before when using the hunts on other frames.

Disconnect the cable, set the limit screws.

Too much of a gap with that frame/wheel to the drop out.

sorry typo does not work with cable disconnected

the rear mech hanger sits outside of the drop out, other frames i have with 142 rear the mech hangers tend to be on the inside of the drop out

some close up pics on the rose website would indicate a direct mount hanger, can i remove the link from my current mech to make it dircet mount?
