I have an FSA crankset on my road bike. The BB is shot (probably my fault for not getting the BB tube faced). The fitting is the type that where a tube fits between the inner races of the bearings and the non drive crank is screwed into the end of the axle (M22 thread?, so the 2 cranks clamp onto the outside of each bearing inner race and the tube takes the load.
I can't find which BB I need to replace the old one. LBS didn't know and I'm not sure which model of crank i have so can'table check on the FSA website.
Has anybody tried using a different BB instead of the proper FSA one? Maybe one with angular contact bearings so it can take a preload?
Any help appreciated!
