I've ordered a road frame that says its a pressfit bottom bracket.

I've also found a BB30 road chainset at a decent price.

Is there anything else I need to know about the two or is this a match made in heaven?

This whole pressfit thing (BB30, BB90, BB92, BB394230349) makes me dizzy. 😯

BB30 isnt press fit

Press fit is BB86 on road and BB90 on MTB

BB30 is a totally different width of shell and the axle is 30mm not 24ish mm

What frame is it?

Ive got a Press fit and it needed a BB86 BB and it wont take a BB30 chainset.

oh tits.

its this Radon R1 frame I've emailed bike-discount to ask whether a BB30 would fit but no reply yet.

Not sounding good!

what frame is it?

Giant/Scott run BB86 which use a standard chainset

Any BB30 frame is different and needs a BB30 chainset.

Well it doesn't specifically say BB30 in the blurb, so I'd be tempted to guess it was BB86.

Well, I did also order this BB86 BB with the frame as a backup plan, it says 24mm spindle on the cups in the picture so would that work with a hollowtech II?

should probably cancel the order for the controltech then.... 😕

it's BB86

the Radon bikes give you the clue ;o)

The R1 4.3 runs a Shimano chainset so can't be BB30 as Shimano don't make one.

AAh, thanks for that!

So I should be OK with the BB86 i've ordered then?

Is it just me being daft or is all this new pressfit stuff confusing?!?

Not necessarily - adaptors are relatively easy to get. However, I'd expect this frame will be BB86 - any Shimano (or compatible) cranks will work.

Sorted (I think). Cancelled the controltech and spotted a 105 in the pricedrop for £53 so snapped that up instead.

Just hope it'll work with the FSA BB! 😕
