I've just added a 11-42 9 speed cassette on to my sons 24 inch bike. It all works really well with a roadlink copy. The roadlink thing really put the lower cog of the mech nearly at the his rim lower gears and looks really vulnerable. I have brand new 10 speed 105 road mech which has a much smaller cage than the mech current bike but has the same pull will it work or will his bike explode.

Check if the 105 mech has the 31T capacity you need.
Then work on punctuation 😀
