Never had a problem before but i've got a 10 speed 105 rh shifter and rear mech that requires an extra shift before it starts working in either direction. so if shifted on to the 28t thats fine to start it shifting down it requires 2 clicks then works fine, then the same to come back up, any suggestions? 10 speed sti and mech

thanks

How old are the inner and outer cables? Especially the inner, if that starts fraying performance goes down the tubes (until it snaps)

Sorry forgot to say, new inner but older outer that was well sprayed with lube before being re used, it could be the outer but why would it then work fine after the extra click?

Outer compresses so more tension needed in cable so misses a shift. I had some dodgy outer that I used for a build and just couldn't get it to work, fee shifts before it changed. New quality outers and it worked perfectly
