I'm looking for a helmet for mtb'ing but just cant find a mtb helmet that I like the look of, shape/style/colour etc, so are there any reasons why I shouldn't be looking at the road helmets, they seem to look better (imho), only thing I see is no visor?

Thanks 😀

There's loads of crossover helmets that are fine for either.

You see mtb'ers and roadies using Catlike helmets - I use a Catlike Vacuum on the mtb and road bike but fancy the new Fox Striker for next year due to the better cover to the back of the head

MTB fashion is becoming less visor conscious so fashion police will leave you be. However road lids tend to offer less protection at the back of the head and tend to have less plastic shell so are prone to dings.

Ah, cool, just the info I was after, I'll just keep searching then for an mtb helmet.

Anyone have experience of the fabric cover on the Giro Xen, looks like a daft idea unless I've missed something?

Thanks again.

Do what you want. Why worry about what anyone else thinks.
