Hi,
I'm looking for a fork to the following specs
Carbon
Rim brake
375mm axle to crown
45mm rake
lower bearing 1.5inch
I don't really understand the impact on different mesasureents on the the ride - i.e. if I wnt for a fork with a slightly high axle to crown what does that mean? I can't find a fork to these specifications but have found some similar.
Thanks!
Matt
Longer fork will raise bottom bracket, slacken off head and seat angle, lengthen wheelbase and decrease reach. Bike will probably feel a bit less racey and a bit more relaxed although by how much depends on how much longer fork is.
Thanks. I've found a fork that is 367mm (8mm shorter) and 46mm rake (+1mm) more. So it lowers bottom bracket but would the increase in rake be enough to offset the reduction in fork length and keep a similar ride?
This is a "3T fork Ragida Team Stealth". THe bike is a Bowman Palace R, original fork has been cut too short for me.
Cheers
Matt
Have you tried contacting Bowman to see if they can sell you one?
Yeah a few times over the last 9 months. They say they'll get back to me but never do, I even asked for a scratched one.
I like Bowman but as they are quite small parts like this are hard to source. They used to have forks listed on their website but these have disappeared.
You are overthinking this, you will not notice any difference in the ride of any road fork, 8mm is 0.5 degrees.
Ahh cheers cynic-al - that is what I needed to hear. Getting it bought.
