You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi everyone!
My name is Liz Wormald and I'm currently progressing into my 4th and final year of study on the BA(Hons) Fashion Design for Industry degree course at Heriot Watt University, in Scotland. I have recently decided to take part in a competition titled 'Active: Performance Sportswear' which is being run by a German fashion foundation named the Stiftung Der Deutschen Bekleidungsindustrie.
The competition involves designing a range of performance sportswear which caters to the sport chosen by each entrant. I've chosen to carry out my entry based on the study of Road Cycling and as a result of this I'm required to carry out some thorough research into the habits, requirements and preferences of the athletes who participate in this sport, be they professional or amateur.
As a part of this I've made an online questionnaire as a starting point for my research. I would be super appreciative if anyone reading this who feels it applies to them (if you do any road cycling whatsoever, i'm talking to you!!) could take a few minutes and fill it in for me. Also, if you're feeling generous, if there were any way you could pass the URL for the questionnaire on to anyone you are in contact with who is involved in Road Cycling, that would be amazing. Thanks in advance guys,

All the best,

I started, but like most on here I would think, I cycle at all times of day, different distances, places etc.
I did the survey, but the spammy pile of survey crap that you have chosen then decided to lock me on to a web page which required me to log off the internet before I could continue.
AVOID.
cynic-al + 1
not a very well thought out questionaire unfortunately...
I got thru the survey but I have seen better designed ones.
Also you might be better with a roadie forum
Could not complete I'm afraid as it was too restrictive forcing me to plump for question which would have resulted in an inaccurate representation of my cycling.
Well, I completed it, but I'm not sure if you'll get any useful info out of that questionairre!
Completed it. I referred to the word 'most' soni wasn't feeling too restricted ;). Although the time thing was a bit odd as inride twice in one day usually.
I'll give you my answer straight out: Make it bold, bright and cram lots of sponsor's logos on it. I LIKE advertising weird european hire car services and bottled gas suppliers. Also, make sure the seams are that 'flatlock' style and contrast with the base fabric, the more seams the better obviously.
Tasteful, uncluttered and subtle cycle jerseys just seem wrong to me.
I completed it, but as the others have said it could do with better structure, there doesn't seem to be a point to it.
I require pink lycra that doesn't go see through in the rain.
HTH
All I'll say is if someone makes a close-fitting top that doesn't make MAMILs like me look like the Michelin man then they'll make millions. If they also have it so a 14 stone 6ft guy is a size Large instead of XXL then they'll make billions.
As long as it makes me look sexy I don'y care.
