Can i put a Shimano 10sp 105 cassette on my daughters DH bike which has a zee rear mech and an slx shifter? Both the mech and shifter are 10sp and the rear wheel is a Hope Pro 2 if it matters.

It'll be fine. I've just put a road cassette on my commuter twinned with a Deore shifter and mech. No problems at all.
