Mine went into the side of a car at 20 mph and snapped the forks. Wheel was still true and I've raced on it since the accident. It's only sheer loads that buckle wheels. That's an impressive bump, but I guess there is nothing structural (steel) under the plastic.

Think about it this way, a wheel easily takes the weight of a 100kg rider, probably double or several times that over undulations/potholes.
Imagine hitting a car with a 23mm wide bar with 200-300kg of force (for the pedants (1962N-2943N).
looking at his/her gearing they were going at a fair old lick.....bet that got their heart rate up a notch or two whilst bombing along.
