I'm about to ditch the stock tyres that came with my road bike, they are schwalbe lugano's. I'm going to go for some schwalbe pro ones.

This website reckons that at 100psi the luganos 'absorb' 22.6 watts of power, and the pro ones absorb 11.6 watts.

Does that mean its going to feel like i am generating an additional 22 watts on average, or am i misunderstanding something?

Seems like an incredibly large difference purely down to tyres.

Probably about right, but that'll be based on some un-achievable (for average Joe on a bike) average speed like 45km/h.

That and one's tubeless one isn't. So unless you go tubeless at the same time the difference may be smaller.

according to the test, its based on an acheivable 18mph speed, and 42.5kg load.

and I will be going tubeless at the same time.

ooh, how exciting,free extra speed.
