In a random fit, I've bought some tub wheels off ebay. I've got into L'eroica and I fancy riding around with tubs wrapped around my chest.

Glue ? Double sided tape ? What do you do if you get more than one puncture ? Can you fill them with latex ? Do I keep them in the car so folk think I'm super keen whilst keeping the clinchers on whilst actually riding ?

All help / abuse for being an idiot (I've had that already) gratefully received...

Glue and tape. Leave three to four days to do it properly.

Failing that, if you fancy a trip to Loughborough I'll show you how to do it properly.

They've just arrived. Looks like I've quite a cleaning job to do first.

White spirit to get the old glue off ?

You need ammonia free latex, otherwise it will rot the inner tube. I think it's cafe latex you can use

White spirit may not be man enough, petrol will work, or heat.

Lots of personal variations. I prefer glue as I found that pulling a punctured tub off left half the tape on the rim and half on the tub. There was some new stuff mentioned on roadcc that might bee better. Your spare is best varied rolled, glue to glue and carefully wrapped, under your saddle. Round the shoulders is best kept for punctured ones if a minute wrapping them up is too previous.Round your shoulders gets them covered in dirt and fluff and your clothes get sticky. It surely depends on youre era as well! You didn't see pro riders carrying tubs like that in the past 50 years and usmere mortals knew better. See above. As for spares,we never carried more than one as your mates also had one and thus plenty were in the bunch . That was enough even on long club rides. I reckon that tubs puncture less as I early had one.

From new. Prevention is better than cure. Think tubeless.

I prefer tape as it is easier to do.
Sealant doesn't always work so best to carry a spare.
