Need a new road wheelset. Clincher. Rim brake. Tubeless. Around 1400g. Not too narrow for 25mm tyres (thinking Archetype width.) Bit of an aero profile to it but nothing deep. Alu rims (or at least braking surface.) Something without funny proprietary bits that'll make them hard to fix. Happy to build my own. I'm around 70kg so ok with most weight limits. Budget around 500 quid.
Been looking at DT RR21's, Hunt's Aero Light. Not sure about Mavic as worry about serviceability.
Thanks 🙂
Novatec Jetfly are a very good weight for the price. Never ridden them myself but appear to get decent reviews.
Not seen those. They look pretty good. On the list.

Should be able to sort you some well within budget and +/- 50g or so depending on what spokes you go for.
The cost for DCR standard hubs, CX-Rays and 24/28 drilling would cost £420 and weigh approximately 1425g. Sub 1400g for 20/24. With D-lights in an all black build (a set which I try to keep in stock at all times making lead time a couple of days) is £360 and weighs approximately 1460g in 24/28. You can buy that with this link including delivery and tape.
I built some Pacenti SL23 (now called Forza I believe but still 24mm wide I think) with Dura Ace hubs, Laser/D-Lite spokes for about your budget and about 1500g. Been riding them for about two years now and love them.
Absolutely sublime. And tubeless is great on them too, albeit a chuffing tight fit! OK a bit outside your weight reqs but hardly lardy still.

I built my own:
Kinlin X31T (31mm rim) - These are the rims Hunt uses, but rebranded.
Novatech Hubs - 20 / 24 (Again, Hunt uses another Taiwanese brand, but no better and these have same Japanese bearings)
Sapim CX Ray spokes
Sapim Nipples
And a few tools.
It came as part of a kit from these guys in Taiwan.

£260 (plus 20 customs) - might be more with Pound weakness.
Took a week to arrive. Longer than that to build!
But great wheels.
DCR wanted £480 to build essentially the same wheelset.....
Thanks everyone. Some of those DCR rims look good. Kit stuff looks very interesting. Do like a wheel build too.
Still liking the look of the RR21's, but extra cost hard to justify.
Took a while but went for DCR wheels in the end. His premium hubs and 23mm rims, 20/24 cx-ray spokes. Arrived today and very nice they look too. 1431g for the pair including yellow tape on the kitchen scales.
Don't think I'll bother with tubeless for now, I'll stick with GP4000's with latex tubes, but nice to have the option.
