Hi
I'm meeting a roadie pal in Alnmouth tomorrow and the idea is to do a 50-60 miler or so on the road bikes, including a stop for some pub grub. Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations for a good route and pub?
Many thanks
Fraser

I'd go up the coast to belford, over Bowden Doors to Chatton, past chillingham to Eglingham, over to Alnwick and back. Must be about 50 so you could extend north to Lowick/Ford if you wanted a bit more distance. There's a pub in Eglingham which is a bit posh but the food's good and they're happy to have cyclists in.

Not an especially "hardcore" ride but spectacularly beautiful and decent roads.

Amble
Druridge bay country park ( via the cycle route nr the beach)
Aklington

If you're doing righog's route - highly recommend the Running Fox in Felton for food.

Is the road not still closed or can you get round another way?
