I'm looking at getting my first road bike,
The tcr composite 1 2012 model
http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-gb/bikes/model/tcr.composite/9310/49806/
£1349.99 on allterraincycles

And the tcr composite 2 2013
http://www.shopgiant-bicycles.co.uk/3283/products/2013-giant-tcr-composite-2--black-red-.aspx#.UQLWgmtYCSM
£1499.99 anywhere

What do you think I should go for?-

They're the same bike essentially (well frame and certain bits), but the 2012 bike is £150 cheaper, and it has a better spec.

NO BRAINER!

As long as you can find a 2012 that fits, I'd get that. Though have a look around at other brands too maybe, good as Giant are, there's still a number of 2012 bargains hanging around.

The chainset on the 2012 model is mostly Ultegra, the 2013 model has a right mish mash of parts.

Which one do you prefer?

I know keep saying this but find your local roadie shop, get measured up properly and take it from there, you'd be surprised what these little shops can get hold of.
