Just a quick one , what is a good average speed say over a 30mile loop ? At the moment mine is only 13.5mph or 21.5km ! the route is flattish with the odd climb . I don't seem to be very tired after my loop ! Maybe increase the average speed up slowly ?
Cheers
depends really, an ok speed on a flat 30mile loop would be c17-18mph. good low 20's.
This is where strava comes in as it allows you to compare easily with others
is strava better than endomondo ?
Start small. Aim at averaging 15mph and take it from there.
is strava better than endomondo ?
only because it allows better comparison with others.

Neither they essentially perform the same function strava just seems to have caught more peoples attention.
you can use both of course data gathered with endomondeo can be exported as a *.gpx file and uploaded to strava....
I would say use which ever you prefer to log your rides and try comparng the same loops say every 4 - 6 weeks to see if there's been any change in overall pace. over time rather than pouring over stats following each and every ride....
Why bother?
I push myself, against my own times, mtb or roadie....
Are you planning to race?
If not, why not ignore your average speed and just enjoy riding your bike? 🙂
Talk to sheep.
Stop for an ice cream.
Take a book.
Do a ride with no right turns.
See how long you can ride with your eyes closed.
All far more fun than trying to ride faster than you did yesterday. 😀

not if you are trying to build your fitness level/establish a good fitness base/increase your CV health.
That's what gyms/turbo trainers are for...
They're still much more fun, even if you are trying to get fitter 🙂
