I've been unlucky enough to have been knocked off the bike last week by a SMIDSY at a roundabout, got out of jail with some bruising and a sprained or fractured wrist (dependant on 2nd scan)so pretty lucky in that respect.
Upshot is new bike time, the bike bounced around a bit and the insurance company are paying for a new one.
Over here in Oz they ain't cheap but I've seen a few good deals on a Wilier Gran Turismo with Ultegra (and some money in my pocket) or maxing the budget gets me a De Rosa Merak with full Sram Red. I know I'll probably be on the upgrade path on the Wilier before long though...
I'm interested in riding impressions if anyone owns any of the above, I've read quite a few reviews on the Wilier but can't really find any on the De Rosa
