What's the difference between the two?

I have a spare MTB Chris King bottom bracket can I use it on the road bike with my 6700 Ultegra triple chainset?
Is it just a case of removing all the spacers and screwing the excess cup into the bb Shell?

I don't know the answer to that one for sure....but if I was you I would contact the Chris King distributor in the UK and ask them if the two components will go together. Or email Madison (UK Shimano distributor) and put the question the other way round to them.

The cups on the road are a little longer than on the mtb version, so all it'll do is throw your chainline out a little.

If you've got the range of adjustment on you front derailleur it shouldn't cause too much problem.

If that is the case (I'm never quite sure) the bigger issue is that you'll have to bodge some spacers exactly the right size to take up the additional axle.

it'll be fine if you remove the central sleeve.

MTB is designed to run three spacers, so the central sleeve is wider (usually). If you take out the spacers (to run a road setup) then the sleeve will now be too wide. Hope get round this by producing two sleeve widths.

I actually run a CK on my commuter but I can't recall how the central sleeve works/looks. I have a funny feeling it can handle both situations...
