Looking for a reasonably cheap bottom bracket for my shimano 105 cranks.

I noticed uberbike do a mtb/road compatible bottom bracket. Does this mean that I can use a mtb shimano bottom bracket on the road bike?

I think you can 😀

I've fitted Shimano mtb and road bottom brackets and I think Shimano make them all the same but put them in different boxes and charge different prices simply because they can 😯

Shimano road cups are 1mm wider than the mtb ones

The shells (sorry: cups) have different length threads. I'm sure there was a reason I founnd they weren't interchangeable but can't remember what it was now. An old thread somewhere has the answer, no doubt.

Looking for a HT2 bottom bracket not BBR60 as I need another tool for that. English thread. Can't find anything that's overly cheap or suitable

Road BB's at Ribble

5700 105 in stock and £10.99, 6700 £15.99, Tiagra level stuff half that price if unfussy...

How cheap do you want a BB?

Well an Ultegra HT2 BB is only £16, the Tiagra version is just £9 (both prices from CRC)

The shimano plastic adaptor fits in my Park HT2 tool - it came with the b/b.

Ive said it before but give the Token bb's a try... I have one on all of my bikes as they last ages and the bearings can be replaced unlike shimano.
Iirc qwerty cycles still do their discount code of stw10 to get them for £18.
