If I put a 10 speed wheel in an 11 speed setup will it still shift okay - spacing is the same but I'd need be careful not to shift over the largest cog?

I've put 5800 on my winter bike and just realised the spare wheel I use for the turbo only goes to 10.

Or should I use this as an excuse for another set of wheels?

Just set the limit screws and index properly and it'll be fine.

Unless of course you really want a new set of wheels 🙂

Or you might just be able to get a new 11sp freehub (did this recently with an old 10sp DT 240 hub.)

Just for turbo use so really don't want to be messing around with limit screws whenever I switch wheels.

New free hub sounds a possibility though...

Ok, you'd still probably need to index even if you didn't do the limit screws.

Cheers MrB, pretty much what I thought but then wondered if the spacing was set out identical from the smallest cog then maybe I'd get away without indexing. So long as I'm careful not to shove the derailleur into the spokes!

Will give it a bash when I get home...

Ok, works fine..indexing is spot on from the 12T with no adjustment.

Perhaps more surprisingly is my Stages waking up first time after a summer in hibernation...
