I'm thinking about getting a new pair of winter thermal tights as the ones I have are about 15 years old and looking a bit old now. I have some Rivelo baggies which I like so thought their tights might be worth a shout too. What are people's opinions of Rivelo generally and of their tights in particular? How long are the legs? I'm a medium but 6ft so sometimes struggle with legs being too short. How do they compare to DHB which are my usual go to brand for shorts?

I can't speak for the leg ware but I've pretty much lived in one of their stormfleece jacket since I bought it a month ago. Really impressed with it

I have some Honister bib shorts which are comfy but they only get used for short rides because the front is cut very high.. which makes calls of nature very awkward!

I have the rivelo winter tights in their third winter.
Very good - better than the endura ones I had before

I've some of their bib shorts, only worn a couple of times but certainly very comfy and are my go to pair for road rides - still fall under the 'too nice to get covered in crap' pile

They are now my go-to brand for roadie wear. I bought some 3/4 bibs about 18 months ago based on friends recommendations and have since bought shirts and a couple of jerseys

I have the winter bibs and have been using them off road for a couple of years. They are great and holding up really well.
Will get a second pair when they finally die (not any time soon)

I'm a 5'7" medium and I've got some of their bib longs. Since they just about reach my socks, I'd say the leg lengths are on the long side.

You mean the short side?

Is Rivelo a SportPursuit in house brand. That’s the only place I’ve seen it for sale.

Not a slight on the products at all. I’ve not a few bits of Isobaa merino that is SportPursuit, and that’s really nice stuff, just wish they’d make their base layers with real men’s sized chests.

My first experience of road bike wear and still my go-to.
IMHO i think they are good value for money and I like the more understated designs they use.
A lot of the fabrics now are recycled.
The Rivelo winter bibs I have come with a zipped fly, which can be very helpful...........

No, long. They aren't tights, but long shorts. They're supposed to come down and cover your knees, but they almost reach my ankles

Good reviews all round then and sounds like they're good top half and bottom half kit. Good to know the legs are long.

@bigblackshed I think you are probably right that they are a sportpursuit brand. They have a few I think. Pretty much all my t-shirts are Sutsu which I suspect are and they are good quality.

Ah, they are bib 3/4s? Hence my confusion.

Rivelo is a stand alone brand that sells through Sports Pursuit and it's own website AFAIK, as for quality and fit, I have several pairs of Honister bibs and as a run of the mill medium sized guy at 5'11" they fit perfectly and the pad is excellent along with the build quality.

I've got a set of Mens Camberwell Bib Tights (Black/Fluro Orange) in Large I keep meaning to get rid of. Nothing wrong with them I just prefer Rapha tights and never wear the Rivello ones.

I have some bib shorts and tops. Both excellent. One of the few bibs that have a decent length leg length (at least for me - i'm 6ft with fairly long legs).

I think it is actually a Sport Pursuit brand - the outdoors equivalent is Fjern - and the brand website is simply there so they can quote an inflated RRP when they flog it on their own site. I've used some of the Fjern stuff and it's decent, they use some proper fabrics like eVent etc, and very good value at the real life SP price.

Pretty sure Rivelo, Untrakt, Fjern and Sutsu are all owned by Sportpursuit. There may be a few others too.

Being owner by sportpursuit would explain why rivelo stuff is always on the site.
Still it is good quality and great value

Yep nothing wrong with it at all, the tights I'm just about to post to StuF have some of the best reflective / hi-viz stuff on them of any on the market (just beaten by Rapha Cargo tights which are my goto dingy winter day choice).

A minor point, but many brands feature a reflective tab or logo on only one arm or leg. When this is the case, it'll be the left arm or leg. In the UK, it would be better if it was the right as it is then more visible to car headlights.

Rivelo have these logos on the right.

Fair enough, makes sense now.

It's one of the Morthlane Group brands co-owned by the guys at Sportpursuit - along with Isobaa, Vulpine, Untrakt, Bolger, Fjern and a few others.

Their first attempts at kit used great materials but the cut and fit wasn't always great, jackets bunching up behind the head etc. But, it is a whole lot better these days.

Or even North Lane 🙂

I've found Rivelo stuff to be well designed and well made with decent materials. At the Sport Pursuit prices it's good value - at the mythical RRP it would be a bit pricey.

I assume they bought Vulpine as that's been around for ages. Although no idea how long SP has been about - think I discovered it only a few years back.

That's why I really like the Rapha Cargo tights. Although they are about 5x the price of Rivelo tights...

They did, I don't recall when though. I think the quality is still there which is good
