I can't find on ritchey's website that these front hubs can be converted from 15mm to 12mm, just wondering if anyone has or would just an aluminium tube do the same thing?

Well, it's basically what any adaptors are - a tube of some sort.

Depends on how the hub is constructed - are the end caps removable? Sticking a 12mm ID x 14.9mm tube up the middle isn't going to work because the ends are going to be too big to fit in the receiving 'pocket' on the fork. Need to see a piccie of the hub...
