Carl,

I have a 2010 shova so the last before they stopped production. It has a low volume air can fox RP23 on it which I'm fairly sure is the high compression model. Our shova's are falling rate as most single pivots are, this is why M'wood spec the low volume air can as this helps to compensate for the falling rate suspension, basically as the air is compressed towards the end of the stroke it prevents the shock from bottoming out so easily where as a higher volume can will bottom out more easily as the air won't ramp up so much.

If you want any more details of my shock let me know but I've been impressed with the standard factory settings it came with.

Surely anyone selling tuned shocks should be able to tell you what one to buy? (if it really matters...which I doubt, for the majority of bikes)

Oh and your bike looks like a low falling rate, HTH.
