[Closed] Riser stem, or highrise bars?

Bit stuck with my Ragley, I just fitted my 30mm rise Iodines (760mm) but with the high top tube and my slightly short steerer, I can't get the bars high enough for the controls to clear the tube (I hate it when they can clash).

So, got to add some height somewhere... And got to be at least 760mm bars. As far as I can tell, Renthal are the only carbon option with 40mm rise or more, can anyone think of an alternative?

The other option's more stem of course, it has a 50mm low rise on at the moment, the only option I know of is Hope's 25 degree 50mm riser but I've never paid much attention to riser stems so I don't know if there's more...

(last option is a change of fork!) But that's a wee bitty extreme)

you can get very high-rise stems, though they do look quite shit

I've an on-one stem that's about 40 degress, about 70mm horizontal length for a rise of 40-50ish. It's not fitted; if you want a go on it for the price of postage, say the word but they sell 'em for about a tenner anyway

Agree with the above, I had a high rise stem (i think 45 degrees by 80mm) on my 456 and it did the job but did look quite wrong.
I do have some nukeproof 760mm high risers I'd swap for your lows though

I think I can accept a bit of looking shit, if it saves me £60 🙂

chrishc77, cheers for that but I'm a carbon tart... I've basically painted myself into a wee bit of a corner, the Iodines are slightly too high rise for the big bike, so I've ended up with a flipped stem and 30mm rise bars, bit unappealing. And now it turns out they're too low rise for the ragley. So I'm buying a new set of bars either way due to barflation, the 720s off the Ragley have to go- but I'd like to put the new ones on the Hemlock. And there's a lot more choice of low rise than high!

Oh man. This is a really awful looking stem. I don't think I'm ever going to ride this bike again

Raceface SixC are available in 35mm rise with 785mm width and are rather lovely. Also, they do 1.5" (38mm?) rise alu bars if you can restrain your tartiness.

I take it your brake levers are angled downwards? Without affecting ergonomics too much could you rotate them upwards a little? Probably less ergonomic impact than high-ride stem or 40mm rise bars...

Couldn't you have rotated the bars so that some of the backsweep was upswept?
