I stupidly paid £80 by bank transfer to Uplift Scotland rider Mathew Scott/marinmanmatt/mallo muncher over a month ago and he has taken my money and run. He was supposed to send me a wheel and tyre, but after a week of nothing claimed there had been an issue with the address and they had returned the wheel.

Then he claimed to have re sent it, but would refund me as it never arrived.Next he ignored me for a week and when I threatened to name and shame he said he would refund that night, no money arrived. He then said it would take five days to transfer (friday 23rd), still nothing. He has since blocked my messages to his mobile and I'm still £80 down.

Not much to say really, but only ever use paypal. Matt if you see this, I will be in your neck of the woods soon and fully intend to get my money back.

You could get a bit of satisfaction doing what the kite boarders have done to one of their rogues.

Up a Facebook Page for him[/url]

What. A. Cock.

Contact uplift Scotland and let them know how their representatives behave in the sport they rely on for business?

when buying privately you are not dealing with a slick mail order business, things will happen slowly. He may have lost his mobile, the address may have been written down wrong. He may be out of the country. Why not contact him via Facebook.

He looks like such a nice guy, surely he can't be capable of such nefarious deeds.

Hi, sounds like you've been very patient.

Have you tried contacting Uplift Scotland to give him a nudge if he seems not to be getting your messages?

I'm sure they'd be keen to help out a rider and customer.

No more than Lance Armstrongs cheating had to do with Nike and Oakley. Sponsors pay to be associated with people and what they achieve.

What's this got to do with a good lynch mob?

Next you'll be asking for 12 good men and trial by jury!

As you say flatfish it has nothing to do with Uplift Scotland, I feel bad even mentioning them, but decided it wouldn't harm them.

It doesn't matter what medium I use, he is ducking, diving and lying. He goes quiet and only responds when you threaten him, but that isn't working now. Maybe I'm wrong about him and he is just incredibly unlucky and inept. Pretty sure he has been to uni, but struggles writing addresses, text messages and bank transfers.

I think naming them is fair enough.

If they have a thief as one of their ambassadors they may (should) wish to disassociate with him.

So you give people you dont know money without any sort of protection and you're suprised when some folk end up to be crooks.

Yes glupton I did, not for the first time, but it will be the last. Silly and naive of me, but you live and learn. Many of us are fooled, thinking we are all enthusiasts and above such things.

Some fella paid £2000 into my account for a motorbike last month without anything more than a few pictures and a description.

He was happy with the bike though when he collected 2 weeks later.

This, and take the Rubber Buccaneer AND bum him? Surely a combination of all of the above is both lolworthy and a sure fire route to success.

Doesn't matter he's a sponsored rider - makes it even worse in my eyes. They're meant to be ambassadors for their team and the teams sponsors. Either he's a little crook or there's been some major mistake, maybe he had to go racing abroad or something?

They are not responsible for the money that he took no.

But sponsorship deals rely on the person being sponsored to be a good ambassador for the brand.

They may like to know what one of their paid ambassadors is doing.

Google "mathew scott uplift scotland" Ooooh boy - someones going to be in trouble.

You'd expect a roots and rain result table or something to come up first - nope.

P.S. OP - Although you seem perfectly believable, if you turn out to be wrong, and this was a genuine error (although I doubt it) this thread could have been kind of harsh. So, in a strange way - fingers crossed you are right and he has tried to dupe you. (Evidence would suggest so.)

nukeproofriding, I made payment on October 31st or earlier, I think it unlikely he is that ulucky/inept, but maybe...

The label was smudged by some kind of spillage, then on the second try courier vehicle was lost in the floods. After that whilst attempting to refund the money his bank went bankrupt and someone hacked into and deleted his email account losing my details. Being mugged for his mobile must have been the last straw... Nah, he has just tried to fleece me.

I am genuinely surprised that Mathew / Matthew Scott of Uplift Scotland hasn't come forward to defend himself in any way shape or form. Surely this won't be doing Mathew / Matthew Scott of Uplift Scotland 's reputation any good at all.

Nothing yet, but plenty of people have seen the thread here and on Ride.io, so at least he shouldn't be able to rob anyone else. I will do something on FB tomorrow.

So last year he was racing as a junior. That'd suggest that he's what 18/19 tops?

You could phone his mum/dad......or bum his mum/dad. That'll learn him 🙂
