Is there such a thing as rip proof shorts, as in the seat/crotch area?

I've had many and all of them except the original Endura I had over a decade ago has ripped within a couple of years. Stitching goes and then I catch it on the seat as I move about.

Had numerous including several newer Endura, Troy Lee and some generic stuff. All the same. Endura stuff is getting worse. Sizes are all over the place, they rip easily and the zips break. Their gloves wear through easily too.

I’m lucky to get a year out of a pair of shorts. I got some Humvee 2 on recommendation last year and they’re utterly rubbish. Wearing them max once a week I wore the stitching through within 3 months and the fabric was developing holes by 6 months. Even the liner is falling apart! Endura aren’t interested in replacing them so I shan’t buy anything from them anymore.

But at the same time I bought some Alpkit shorts and they are so much better. Worn more like two times a week they show signs of saddle wear but are fine otherwise.

Troy Lee Moto have been easily the toughest shorts I've ever had
