Hey all, as the name suggests, I'm a bit of a big lad and I'm getting fed up with dinging my dt swiss rims. Any recommendations for the holy grail of light and strong rims suitable for a 32 hole hub?

Depends where on the strong to light spectrum you want but stabs seem to come recommended universally and mine have impressed me as a previous "mavic or nothing" wheel builder.

Stan's sound good. Thanks for the universal recommendation. It matches up with a buddy at the LBS. Anything else out there even lighter/stronger?

Mavic 719's are a little lighter I think. I've not done any damage to mine but I think Flows are tougher.

I'd be looking at more air in the tyres and picking smoother lines rather than changing rims.

I also ding'd DT 5.1 rims., 717 rims too so went heavier duty with some Mavic 729 rims.

They have remained splendidly circular despite my best efforts.

Heavy but seemingly indestructible.

231s LOL I presume they are what a gentleman might call "low mileage"? 😛

mavic 819/721/729/823 ain't bent any of them ever, and i'm not light.

never tried the flows, but from what i hear stronger then 819s

i'd get flows/819s if i were you, the 819 is a great rim, though a tad narrow if you like running tires biger then 2.25.

Flows are wider whih would be the main reason for me buying them.
