after some new wheels,
been offered some mavic 717's on hope hubs,
I run 2.4 conti mountain kings, are these tyres gunna be ok with the 717's ????

Bit of a squeeze I reckon.
Presuming you mean the original MKs, they're really round profile. Narrow rims would make them even more so.
